Sažetak
Job satisfaction can be defined as the general attitude toward job or as the set of attitudes toward various job aspects. The linkage between general satisfaction and satisfaction facets is not straightforward: the general job satisfaction is not just a sum of all facets. Moreover, the unique characteristics of employees could modify this relation. The aim of this study was to explore the relation of the general job satisfaction to the nine satisfaction facets considering possible moderating effects of certain employees' characteristics, like gender, age, length of employment in firm, salary and vocational interest type. Respondents were approximately 300 employed adults working in different work settings. The general job satisfaction was measured with short Likert-type scale (k = 4). The nine satisfaction facets (e.g. fair pay, nice co-workers) were measured as the discrepancy between respondents' ratings of the preferable and the observed job-aspect in their working environment. Result were analysed by hierarchical regression analysis where satisfaction facets were entered to the equation in blocks concerning Hertzberg two-factor theory. Observed differences in predictions were analysed with reference to employees' characteristics.
