Sažetak
This article aims to show that some Greek legends contain memories of prehistoric trade routes and other contacts between the European North and South, and concentrates on the stories testifying that the Baltic and the Mediterranean maintained mutual relations across the Pannonian region as well. The Baltic furnished European regions with amber, which found its place in some Greek legends, for example in those on the Argonauts, Hyperboreans, Hesperides, and Phaethon.
