Sažetak
In this Editorial a status, perspectives and the importance of both fundamental nuclear physics and its applications are discussed. Also new initiatives of the Nuclear Physics European Collaboration Committee (NuPECC)and of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) concerning even better international collaboration in nuclear physics are presented.
