Sažetak
The friction is inevitable background of the metal forming processes and primarily it increases energy consumption. It can be reduced by lubrication and thus, quality of the products can be improved, too. Therefore, in designing a metal forming operation, it is necessary to quantify friction. Many friction laws are used for that purpose. Parameters, usually called coefficients or factors, used in that laws can be determined using various tests. Amongst them, ring compression test. has proven to be one of the best. In this work, it is shown how the MATLAB predefined interpolation functions can be used to determine required friction parameters.
