Sažetak
The paper discusses an issue about research, using as a focus, the female participation within a Carnival event on Croatia's coast. The female chain-dance is performed on Lastovo island on only one day of the year - Shrove Tuesday - but this participation has remained invisible in literature. The issue of what it is that should be written - and about whom becomes important. The question is: what is it that influences us as researchers and our selection in interpreting individual events?
