Sažetak
We described the case of a 40-year-old end-stage renal disease patient treated repeatedly with hemodialysis, with acute pancreatitis and formation of pancreatic pseudocysts, who developed infected fluid collection which required surgical treatment. Pancreatocystojejunal anastomosis was performed. During the postoperative period we found infected fluid collection in the right subphrenic and Douglas space which required external drainage. Although acute pancreatitis ia s rare disease among the patients on dialysis, it is more frequent among them than in persons with healthy kidneys. Many authors report on vary bad prognosis and high mortality of these patients. Our case report shows that the prognosis of patients on dialysis with severe pancreatitis greatly depends on appropriate conservative and surgical treatment, in addition to successful treatment of complications such as hospital infections.
