Sažetak
The article depicts the situation of children's literature in Croatia with respect to various aspects of its context both in terms of its history and of the contemporary situation. It refers to major authors and illustrators, to literary awards, to international literature adopted by Croatian readership, to teacher education, etc. It concludes that it is the mediators -- teachers, librarians, scholars, cultural workers, media people etc. -- who have been exceptionally busy in Croatia since 1990s, finding paths and building roads between children's books and young readers.
