Sažetak
The lamb leathers are one of the domestic waste sources, especially on the islands. The basic idea is the national production of washable lamb leather shoes with proper eco labels. Washing of shoes from lamb leather is one of the main technological problems. Preliminary laboratory trials are carried out on the coloured lamb leather samples. Composition and concentration of detergent as well as washing conditions must be optimised due to maintenance of softness and colour fastness during repeated wash cycles. Coloured lamb leather samples are washed with three liquid formulation of detergent at 30 °C. Surface active component of these formulations is combination of cationic, anionic and non-ionic surfactants. The influence of special additives to basic composition and water hardness on the softness and colour fastness during repeated cycles are investigated, too. This investigation presents an original contribution to the sustainable development and rational management of raw material resources in Croatia.
