Sažetak
In this paper some durability issues are discussed. A short overview of the concrete bridges in Croatia and some typical damages on conventional structures on Croatian roads are shown. In this paper some benefits for improved durability of integral bridges are discussed also some reasons for introducing integral structures on Croatian Highways are given. An short overview of the integral bridge design study for improvement of overall bridge quality is shown. The result of this study was the implementation of integral overpasses for two new sections for the Croatian Highways which are shown (design level) and explained in some detail. We expect that the jointless construction method will beside the improved durability offer new prospects for the concrete which is often described as massive and bulky material.
