Sažetak
The results of chemical analyses of the Lupinus family varieties (AMIGA, ANDA, ATU, BORUTA, BUTAN, DIETA, JUNO, KARO, PRIMA, ROSE, SONET, WATT) mostly grown in Europe and their comparison with soybeans of two locally grown varieties (KORADA and VISION) are mentioned in the study. In analysed varieties of lupine seeds individual content substances ranged from 317.06 – 458.86 g . kg-1 in crude protein, 52.15 – 125.76 g . kg-1 in lipids, 101.21 – 154.23 g . kg-1 in fibre, 285.94 – 436.47 g . kg-1 in non-nitrogenous extractive substances, 41.31 – 102.65 g . kg-1 in starch, 951.75 – 966.24 g . kg-1 in organic matter, 33.76 – 48.25 g . kg-1 in ash, 2.29 – 5.10 g . kg-1 in calcium, 4.62 – 8.04 g . kg-1 in phosphorus, 1.36 – 2.51 g . kg-1 in magnesium and 133.13 – 209.25 g . kg-1.in acid detergent fibre. A large difference in chemical composition of the Lupinus family seeds is obvious from the obtained results. Lupin seeds are characteristic in a high content of crude protein ; in some varieties they significantly exceed the content of crude protein in soybeans. In general, it may be stated that in contrast to lupine seeds, soybeans contain a significantly higher content of lipids and lower content of fibre including acid detergent fibre. Also correlative relations between some observed content substances of seeds of individual lupin varieties are interesting. A negative correlation coefficient characterizes the relation between the crude protein and BNLV content (r = - 0.93) and crude protein and starch content (r = - 0.79). A positive correlation characterizes the relation between the starch and BNLV content (r = 0.76) in lupin seeds. The results of the study give groundwork not only for growers from the point of view of attractions of cultivation of individual lupin varieties, but also for breeders, while using lupin seeds as suitable components for feed rations and mashes.
