Sažetak
Aim. To explore viewpoints and satisfaction with sexual life in Dalmatia. Patients and methods. Using a semistructured questionnaire polled were 147 sexually active examinees of either gender (76 females, 71 males), aged 38.6± ; 7.39 (min 21, max 50) years, from October, 15th 2005 to January 31st 2006. Results. Of all the examinees, 76% were globally satisfied with their sexual life during the past month. More satisfied were those using „ natural“ contraceptive methods or none at all (χ ² ; =63.6 ; p<0.001) ; 86.2% considered sex an important part of life, and 75.7% were satisfied with their body image. Those satisfied with their body image, found more satisfaction in their sexual life (χ ² ; =26.6 ; p=0.020). In the matter of contraception, 29.3% didn’ t use any, 29.3% used coitus interruptus and 2.3% used fertile days count. Condom was used by 24.1%, and pills, IUD, diaphragm etc. by 15.1%. Examinees with more children used „ modern” contraceptive methods rather than „ natural“ methods (χ ² ; = 39.2 ; p=0.026). Of all the examinees 56.8% didn’ t agree with the claim that catholic morality is of crucial importance in the matter of sexuality. Catholic morality was more expressed in the examinees with more children (χ ² ; = 32.5 ; p=0.008). Conclusion. The pollees in this study were mostly satisfied with their sexual life in the past month. Sexual activity was considered an important life ingredient. The prefered contraceptive method was a „ natural“ one.
