Sažetak
In this paper the optimisation of cutting QStE 380N steel with the gas CO2 laser according the minimum surface roughness criterion has been treated. First, the influence variables were chosen. The experiments were done according to shortened design on account of simplicity and rationality. Experimental data were treated with multiple regression analysis to establish the mathematical model which describes the dependency of the surface roughness on the elements of laser beam cutting regime (namely cutting speed and cutting gas pressure) and the trace measuring distance from the upper surface of the sheet metal. The adequacy of the developed model was checked in accordance to Fischer's criterion. Finally, the optimal cutting speed and the optimal cutting gas pressure for which the surface roughness has the least amount according to DIN 2310 standard were determined.
