Sažetak
In order to study the influence of slack mercerised OE and ring spun cotton yarn on its adsorption properties, the adsorption experiments were performed to determine the affinity for surfactants in acidic (pH4) and alkaline (pH 9) solutions as well as moisture regain and Ba(OH)2, adsorption.
Because of economy dyeing, one of the most important and well known mercerisation effect is the increasing of dyes adsorption. It increases continuously from untreated cotton to mercerised with 24% NaOH solution, when it reaches a maximum.
In the case of anionic surfactant adsorption, mercerised cotton exhibits a much lesser extent than the unmercerised ones. It means that different adsorption mechanism occurs during the surfactants and dyes anions.
