Sažetak
The period 1848-1918 was a formative period of the Croatian judiciary. It has been formated mainly by adaptation of the Austrian model but an important actor was a peripheral position of Croatia-Slavonia in the Austrian-Hungarian Monarchy as well as internal social and political limitations. The main obstacle to judicial independence was authoritarian politics that was largely product of the external inluences ; however, internal factors - especially lower social and cultural determinants infleunced the development.
