Sažetak
The paper proposes a method for approximating hazard and risk in design and construction of tunnels in carbonate rock-mass. A database was formed with the design and construction of eight tunnels in the greator area of Gorski Kotar, Croatia, with a total length of over 10 km . Through the application of the proposed methodology, based on research work necessary for design, zones of natural hazard and high specific risk were identified, This makes maintenance of planned financial sources and planned tunnel construction times possible within acceptable boundaries.
