Sažetak
Aim of this paper was to observed the problems of the degradation and ageing of the polymer materials. At the artifficial leather and generally speaking coated fabrics which are used for the articles with long time period of use like upholstrey, sport garments, protective clothing and etc. is necessary to determine how their properties alternate during their usage. Today is developed many methods for testing but their are not the results of the workout, therefore in this paper we were applied development methods of the artifficial leather producer. In this paper as well was observed influence of the ultrasound treatment on the untreated and treated samples. Investigations are carried out on seven samples from artifficial leather producer different purpose (medical, protective clothing and upholstery). With the influence of the light and oxidation medium with water (hydrolysis) was established that the polyurethanes significantly ageing. Influence of water (which was observed in this paper) catalysis with acid and alkali where water react on the ester and urethanes bond. Products of the reaction are glicole and acids with later activities as a catalysis for next reaction. Hydrolysis can react serious damages. If is polyurethane insufficiently permanent on the ageing that is reflex with reducing of breaking force, elongation and other mechanical charactheristics. With progressive lost of mechanical and chemical properties arrival to thaw of polymers in time depends on the medium and the type of the polymer. Through the breaking force and the other mechanical characteristics suite the influence of the hydrolysis. Treatment against the fire also is necessary as well was observed the influence if the ultrasound on the ageing as like on the efficiency of the burning. The experimental results of breaking force, elongation and the other mechanical charactheristic and fire tests show that there is variations between untreated and ultrasound treated samples. Ageing and ageing of the protective clothing today is one of the most popular problem in the world so with this paper we try to gave a little contribution in understanding of this problem.
