Sažetak
The citizenship approach opens a gender-sensitive perspective on the transition process in Eastern and Central Europe. On the basis of citizenship rights, social citizenship provisions would be encompassing and gender-sensitive ; they would be grounded in a universal notion of citizenship, rather than in ascribed roles and different functions of women and men, a perspective which is no longer considered to be legitimate in the light of social justice and gender equity today.
