Sažetak
Toxoplasmic serology in 69 clinically definite MS patients (IMAB diagnostic criterion)was examined during a 1978-1986 period. Indirect imunofluorescence test (ITFA), reaction of complement fixation test (CFT) and the inhibition of hemagglutination (IHA) were used. The serum of the diseased was always examined in the same laboratory and by means of the same tests, using parallel serum specimens. 28.9% MS patients were antibody carriers to Toxoplasma. Disappearance of present antibodies was observed in MS patients with shorter duration of the disease and mild disability after a strong, repeated immunosuppressive therapy. Long duration of the disease, high disability level, even in the absence of the immunosuppressive therapy, were accompanied by the increase of antibodies to Toxoplasma in one part of MS patients. First of all, it was a question of recrudescence of a latent infection, and probably a recent disease in one case.
