Sažetak
Two variants of the finite volume method for solving the Navier-Stokes equations are developed. The methods are defined on a locally-orthogonal unstructured collocated grid. The first method is based on the SIMPLER and the second on the SIMPLE algorithm. The two methods are compared in terms of robustness for selected test problems of laminar and turbulent flows. The SIMPLER algorithm seems to be a better choice since the method is rather insensitive to the choice of velocity under-relaxation factor, and it is stable up to reasonably high values of this factor. In the case of turbulent flow the advantage of the SIMPLER algorithm is decreased by the influence of non-linearity of turbulence model equations. In this case, a better algorithm for coupling turbulence model equations is required to exploit the advantage of the SIMPLER algorithm in the pressure velocity coupling.
