Sažetak
Damaging of the electro-energetic facilities increases the possibility of proliferation of the stable organic pollutants PCBs in the environment. Town Zadar is situated on karstic, porous soil. Spreading of the spilled PCBs is enlarged through this medium towards the coastline. The research has been carried out about the level of the pollution in a few locations in the town Zadar. The first soil sampling outside of the electrical transformer station (E.T.S.) Zadar was performed throughout 2003: the textile mill TIZ in Zadar fish factory Adria, in the town park Donat, in the weather station Zadar and at the peak Zavižan on Mt. Velebit as the referential area. Sampling in the TIZ was repeated 2004 and samples were also taken in the large destroyed factory BAGAT, on the deposit of building waste in the port Gaženice and on the metal waste field. The level of PCBs in the soil from certain localities in the town Zadar (the park Donat, the factory Adria, and the weather station Zadar) do not significantly differ compared to the area of top Zavižan on Mt. Velebit which has been taken as the referential unpolluted area. In soil samples from the BAGAT factory and from the metal waste deposit the observed concentrations of PCBs were in the range from 3 to the 6 ppm of total PCBs. The TIZ 1 soil sample has 118 ppm and the TIZ 3 has 243 ppm of the 7 key PCBs. For more detailed and more accurate assessment of the possible pollution inside factory complexes TIZ and BAGAT, in 2004 besides the soil samples, collection of the n-hexane cotton wiping of concrete surfaces in trafo-facilities of these factories was also performed. It was observed high levels in samples collected inside the E.T.S. TIZ.
