Sažetak
Six large reinforced concrete arch bridges were constructed over the past four decades at the Croatian Adriatic coast. The most famous among them is Krk Bridge, completed 25 years ago but still the largest spanning conventional reinforced concrete arch in the world. While Šibenik, Pag and Krk Bridges have been in use for 25-40 years, Maslenica and Skradin Bridges were constructed more recently. Over the years many deficiencies and advanced stage of deterioration processes were identified on older bridges, as a consequence of extremely aggressive exposure conditions, but also of conceptual design and errors and negligence on site. Subsequently, many repairs were executed. These are not only expensive, but also technically demanding tasks and very difficult to perform. The paper will show history of both of Krk arch bridges.
