Sažetak
Objective - to gain health status and quality of life for elderly population in Croatia Design - in semistructured interview two instruments are used: The SF-36 form (a short form with 36 questions) - a multi-purpose survey of general health status and outcomes and The Schedule for the evaluation of individual quality of life (SEIQoL). Sample - 132 randomly selected subjects aged 65+ years, and 401 randomly selected subjects aged 18-25 years shown here for comparison. Results - The distributions of results for four scales (Vitality, Social Functioning, Role-Emotional and Mental Health) constituting summary measures of Mental Health are presented. Differences were observed in all 4 studied dimensions between the elderly and the young subjects groups. For the quality if life - nine main categories of quality of life formed from life areas listed by the elderly are presented.
