Sažetak
The electrochemical behavior of the copper electrode modified by two different self-assembled monolayers has been studied in aqueous acetate buffer solution by electrochemical techniques, electrochemical impedance measurements and in situ scanning electrochemical microscopy. On the copper surface long chain alkanethiols form a monolayer anchored by the copper-sulfur interaction which is stabilized by the van der Waals type of forces between long chains. This structure in contact with electrolytic solution protects excellently the underlying copper against corrosion.
