Sažetak
This essay tries to explain the relevant problems associated with the issue of the end of history. The character and the essence of historical knowldege, especialy of historical foretelling. For this purpose, there exist a distinction between a female soothsayer and the one knowledgeable in history (differences in the character of their respective knowledges, ways of foretelling, and the methodologies they use). The issue of the birth of history (as specific and purposeful human temporality), its significance for the History of the West, as well as its connection to Progress and reason. The issue of the death of History, and its relationship to the sickness and death of nature, as well as the disappearance of the idea of infinity as the basic idea as the birth place of the idea of History. The end of the essay suggests the birth of a new, cosmic History.
