Main regions of radiological measurements in Croatia are: Zagreb region (measurements for NPP Krško) Podravina (measurements for NPP Paks) Baranja (OSIJEK, measurements for NPP Paks) Istra (UČKA, referent station) Velebit (ZAVIŽAN, referent station) Knin (referent station) Biokovo (sv. Jure, referent station) Southeastern Adriatic (DUBROVNIK, referent station). Co-ordination of radiological measurement: Responsible Authority - Division of Nuclear Safety, Ministry of Economic Affairs Responsible Research Institutions - Center for Marine & Environmental Research (ZIMO) of the Ruđer Bošković Institute (IRB) Co-ordinator of radiological measurements - Dr. Stipe Lulic, Laboratory for Radioecology (ZIMO, IRB) Quality Assurance Co-ordinator - Prof. dr. Ivica Ružić, Laboratory for Physico-Chemical Separations (ZIMO, IRB). Participating institutions are: Center for Marine & Envirnmental Research (ZIMO) Institute for Medical Research and Occupational Health, Zagreb (IMI) Meteorological and Hydrological Service, Zagreb (DHMZ). Main sources of radiological contamination are: Nuclear Power Plant in Krško, Slovenia Nuclear Power Plant in Paks, Hungary. Reports on NPP Krško Operation and its influence on the environment are given quartaly (including 1996) and summary report is given for the whole year.
