Sažetak
The researches of algal growth potential of Chlorella kessleri Fott et Novak, culture were done by miniature bioassay method in the Stara Drava (Old Drava) channel and in Sakadaš Lake (Special zoological reserve « ; Kopački rit» ; ) in 1990 and 1991. The maximal biomass growth, AGP (26.0 mg/L) of Chlorella kessleri was achieved after 432 hour cultivation period. In the period after 432 hours up to 792 hours the biomass decreased. In the whole period from December 1990 to March 1991 the addition of nutrients (N, P) did not remarkably cause any changes in the algae biomass. However, in April 1991 the added nutrients increased the Chlorella kessleri biomass that had been as low as 2.7 - 14 mg/L in original water Stara Drava samples. The low concentration of nutrients in the Stara Drava waters out in April 1991 was the results of the micro- and macrovegetation, unlike in the waters of Sakadaš Lake, where the minimal nitrogen concentration was found out in December 1990. Minimal phosphorus concentration was in December 1990 and January 1991, it means in the stagnation period. The cleaning of the lake bottom, previously done caused probably such a low concentration of the nutrients.
