Sažetak
In the last two decades, the countries of SEE have encountered a number of changes on different levels – political, economic or cultural. The cultural transitions still occur in the region due to parallel processes of globalization and democratization. The field of creative industries is also affected ; the key creative industries conglomerates are mainly American based and highly influential in the Southeast European cultural landscape. In addition the influence of European creative industries’ companies is also present. Among other issues, it is important to see how this is affecting culture workers in the creative industries of SEE, and what are the conditions in market in which they are working. The knowledge on and research of creative industries is rather scarce in the SEE region. If the research is done, it is hardly ever focused on the actors themselves and their experiences and knowledge of the field. It is central to investigate the multidimensionality of the problem: to see which instruments of cultural policies as well as other public policies are tackling the field of creative industries in SEE. SEE is a highly dynamic region where cultural production is still highly state-subsidized. Local creative industries are struggling to find their place in the local market, and to position themselves on the local, regional, European and global market.
