Sažetak
Before Lions Croatian Eye Bank (LCEB) was founded, there were no corneal transplantation routinly performed on the Ophthalmology Department of GH "Sveti Duh". On 11th April 1991 the first keratoplasty was performed. Since then till the eye bank was opened, there were performed 137 transplantation of "fresh" cornea. After the opening of LCEB there were performed 127 corneal transplantations (82 corneas were stored in intermediate medium and 45 in long-term medium). Patients were devided according to risk factors in low-risk group 229 and high-risk group 70. Keratoplasty is sometimes performed with other intrabulbar operations most often ECCE+PC IOL+Filtrat. The HLA-tissue typing was also done. The results are presented in the visual acuity of the recipients 6 months after the surgery was performed and with the appearance of the opacification, which appeared in 35 grafts and 229 of grafts remained clear.
