Sažetak
The finite element analysis for the coupled soil consolidation problem is presented. Dynamic relaxation technique is used for the solution of equilibrium equations at each time increment. A simple linear elastic, ideally plastic stress path dependent constitutive equation for soil skeleton is introduced. The analysis is applied to the problem of a strip foundation on a water saturated clay layer in order to emphasize the role of the consolidation process on the final settlement.
