Sažetak
Experiments were conducted to compare the efficiency of organic and conventional methods for the production of tomato (L. lycopersicum [L. esculentum]) under greenhouse conditions. The duration from planting to harvest was shorter under the organic than the conventional method of production. Fruit weight varied significantly with the tomato hybrid used under both production methods, while the number of fruits per plant was not significantly different among hybrids. Regular monitoring and control of all agrotechnological parameters under organic production provided satisfactory yields. However, the yield was more affected by the interaction between the production method and the hybrid rather than by the production method alone.
