Sažetak
The Roman mosaics of Dalmatia, Histria and Pannonia, as one of the basic and multifactored elements for understanding of the technique and style of decorating the interiors of Roman structures, whether private or public, are essential to comprehending artistic movements and stylistic concepts in the region of Dalmatia, Histria and Pannonia from the 1st to the 4th centuries A.D. The numerous archaeological discoveries of mosaics in Dalmatia, Histria and Pannonia bear witness to the importation, acceptance, and imitation of artistic forms as these developed elsewhere, and also to local developments, sometimes even with certain original contributions. However, the distribution of finds unfortunately is not uniform throughout the entire region.
