Sažetak
Several thermal treatment procedures have been developed for the preparation of superconducting phases in the Hg-Ba-Ca-Cu-O system. Usually precursors of the chemical formulae Ba_2CuO_x, Ba_2CaCu_2O_y or Ba_2Ca_2Cu_3O_z react with HgO in evacuated sealed quartz tube. The precursors are mainly prepared from high-purity metal oxides or metal nitrates. Based on IR-spectroscopy measurements the earth-alkali metal oxides usually contain certain amount of carbonates and it is hard to avoid this impurity in the preparation procedure of Hg-based oxide superconductors. The superconducting samples of the composition HgBa_2CaCu_2O_m and HgBa_2Ca_2Cu_3O_n were prepared by the reaction of HgO and precursors obtained by three different methods: from metal oxides, metal carbonates or metal nitrates. The structural, magnetic and superconducting properties of the three series of samples have been correlated.
