Sažetak
Advantage of nanolayers on solids that can replace the traditional inhibitors is the significant decrease in chemicals used at industrial scale. The consequence is lower environmental pollution. Special hydroxamic acid amphiphiles (C10HA-C18HA) were used in self assembled molecular layers (SAM) on copper surface. The importance of the time in the SAM formation as well as of the carbon chain length in the amphiphilic molecules was in the focus of the experiments. The layer formation was characterized by sum-frequency vibrational spectroscopy. The efficiency of nanolayers was measured by different electrochemical techniques and by microcalorimetry. The comparative analysis of data proved that the increase in time of SAM formation up to 30 min enhanced the stability as well as the efficacy of nanolayers under the given experimental conditions. The length of the carbon chain in the SAM layer has not significant impact on the efficiency in corrosive environment.
