Sažetak
The specific vulnerability methodology developed within the framework of COST Action 620 emanates from the definition of relevant contaminant types, for which an assessment is indicated. For specific vulnerability related to transport three contaminats derived from road transport will be used: heavy metals ; chlorides from deicing and hydrocarbon contaminants. Hydrocarbon contaminants, especially polyaromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), may derive from the roads and highaway as well as from petrol stations and from oil-fuel and petrol tanks for private and agricultural purposes. For chemical stormwater pollution the risk source is the chemical substances in stormwater runoff from roads. Hazard identification is therefore devoted to identifying the relevant chemical constituents and finding information about their properties and effects. Hazard assessment is concerned with predicting concentrations of these substances and comparing with predicted no-effect concentration threshold levels (estimating the so-called PEC/PNEC ratios). Other hazards identified in the Gacka catchmet: houses and villages without sewer systems, waste water discharge into surface watercourses, garbage dump, gasoline station, railway line, railway tunnel unsecured, railway stations, graveyards, paint and pulp industry, animal farms, agricultural land and stone aggregate quarries. Also a hazard may exist from war activities mainly landmines, shells and ammunition.
