Sažetak
Many phenomena occurring at solid-liquid interface, such as wettability, adsorption, particle aggregation, depends to a large extend on the kind and magnitude of the solid surface free energy and surface electrokinetic properties in water solution. These phenomena are crucial for textile dyeing, finishing and care. They characterize material surface and change with different material pretreatment. In this paper electrokinetic potential, isoelectric point, point of zero charge, specific amount of surface charge and surface free energy of raw, enzimatically scoured and bleached cotton fabrics were investigated. Electrokinetic potential was measured by streaming potential/current method and specific quantity of surface charge by back-titration method. For determination of the solid surface free energy components the thin-layer wicking method was used. Therefore, the rate of liquid penetration (wicking) of one apolar and two polar liquids into bare and pre-contacted cotton fabrics was measured. On the base of these results work of adhesion and components of solid surface free energy were calculated and discussed.
