Sažetak
A comparative study of various types of surface modifications of Inconel-600 electrodes was carried out. A repetitive potential cycling, anodic potentiostatic polarization, square-wave potential-time programming, hydrothermal and chemical treatments were used. Hydrous oxide layers were formed using potentiodynamic and square-wave modifications, whereas more crystalline and anhydrous oxide films were produced by other treatments. The electrodes were characterized electrochemically by cyclic voltammetry and morphologically by scanning electron microscopy. Corrosion implications of surface modifications have been examined by quasi-stationary potentiodynamic anodic polarization and by potential-time measurements under open-circuit conditions. The most stable surface was obtained by hydrothermal treatment.
