Sažetak
As a part of maintenance program developed by Croatian Roads, Ltd., main inspection of Šibenik Arch Bridge was performed. Paper describes conducted testing on the Bridge and presents findings of this inspection. Besides visual inspection of all reachable surfaces, chloride content testing and concrete cover measurements were performed as well as geodetic measurements. Šibenik Arch Bridge is part of national road D-8 located on the Adriatic coast at the mouth of Krka River in maritime environment that is not as aggressive as it is in case of other arch bridges on the Adriatic coast. Main span is fixed arch of 246.40 m and superstructure is simple supported precast prestressed concrete grillage of 23.30 m span. "Barin", specialized inspection vehicle of Croatian Roads was used to reach underneath the superstructures of the Bridge and boat was used to inspect arch abutments as well as bottom side of arch. Special attention was given to precast prestressed superstructure girders and their connection with cross beams on top of columns. These connections were classified critical by inspection conducted in 1994. Main reasons for this classification were poor condition of concrete and corroded steel reinforcement that are confirmed with this inspection.
