Sažetak
Globalization process has many challenges. Global poverty, hunger, unequal distribution of income and wealth, creating and adequate social safety network, maintaining ecological imbalance are some of the many open ends. The globalization process will succeed only if the future economic growth addresses these very challeneges adequately ; else it will be defeated once again. Globalization provides many opportunities too. In macro perspective, the process offers the countries, large and small, to integrate in the world trade, commerce, finances, science and technology. From microeconomic point of view the domestic companies are supposed to cash on from incoming investments, technology, and management expertise. All these benefits could enhance the economic efficiency, international competitiveness, volume of production and trade, profits etc. Shall these opportunities be availed off, and the participants in the global economic progress will be able to draw the so widely claimed benefits of international economic integration, is to be seen in the current development decade.
