Sažetak
In many plants is often difficult to provide reliable, fast, on-line measurement to control product quality. The quality measure may only be available as a laboratory analysis or very infrequently on-line. This can lead to excessive off-specification products. Soft sensor is a powerful and incresingly used methodology that allows process quality, or a difficult to measure process variables, to be inferred from other easily made plant measurements such as pressure, flow or temperature. The attention of this paper is to show how inferential measurement systems can be designed, and how the strategy can be used to enhance process operation and productivity.
