Sažetak
In the period from April 27 to May 9, 2004 the sampling of Aedes vexans, Ochlerotatus sticticus and Ochlerotatus caspius was performed by using the "capture-mark-release-recapture" method on 40 locations placed across Osijek municipality (177.3 km2). 50.000 adult mosquitoes were marked with powdered fluorescent pigment and released from the southern part of Kopački rit (natural wetland). CO2 baited CDC-traps were placed from 1 to 16.7 km away from the release point. Recapture rate of the marked mosquitoes was 0.044% (12 Oc. sticticus, 7 Ae. vexans and 3 Oc. caspius). The species Oc. sticticus and Oc. caspius were caught in the first five days of sampling, while species of Ae. vexans was recorded from the third day of investigation. The marked mosquitoes were found at 12 sites ranging in distance from 1 km to 11.7 km away from the release point. The maximal flight distance was made by Oc. sticticus noted in the third day of investigation.
