Sažetak
Faced with a problem of inland waterways maintenance, Hrvatske vode (Croatian waters), governmental water resources management agency, engaged Brodarski institut to design and deliver two river survey boats. As the part of a project, low cost custom designed hydrographic survey system was designed, built, installed, tested and commissioned to the customer. The system was intended for inland waterway survey, but was to be fully applicable for dredging planning and survey. It is to be used in shallow water (0.5 to 20 m with majority of depths in 3-7 m range) with wide range of survey speeds. The designed system includes high accuracy single-beam, single-frequency echo sounder, GPS positioning and PC Windows based hydrographic survey software. The possibilities for heave-pitch-roll (HPR) corrections are provided although HPR sensor is not delivered in this phase of the project. High precision RTK GPS positioning is used for determining the real time water levels. The precise height above the ellipsoid available from RTK GPS is converted directly in height above the chart datum, thus eliminating the need for any additional water level gauge data. The system is designed and tested to be capable of: • Planning and creating survey lines and areas • Automatically logging survey data along planned survey lines • Correcting raw survey data for draft, sound velocity and GPS antenna position variations • Editing raw survey data • Displaying survey data as cross sections, contours and 3-D models • Calculating volumes between contours • Displaying planned and survey data against background files (e.g. maps) • Importing and exporting data and background files The system is installed in flight cases, is completely portable, easy to operate, set-up and maintain.
