Sažetak
Technical achievements of thiscentury have opened up new ways of investigation also in diabetes research. Closely connected to this is the continuous in vivo blood glucose monitoring at the patient's bedside, which represents a more sophisticated method of the blood glucose follow-up. Since such a system provides much more information on the patient9s condition and subtle changes in metabolites, minimum and maximum responses to the therapy cannot remain unnoticed. The time of monitoring may depend either on the patient's state or on the kind of investigation.
