Sažetak
The present paper should provide an insight into the new speech database, collected at the Laboratory of Artificial Perception. GOPOLIS database is a large multi-speaker speech database, derived from real situation dialogues concerning flight timetable information services. It is intended to be used as the Slovenian speech database within the SQEL project, which aims to built a multi-lingual speech recognition and understanding dialogue system. The paper describes our experiences in planning and collection of the database material. On the basis of the Speech Assessment Methods Phonetic Alphabet (SAMPA), a selection of machine readable phonetic symbols appropriate for the Slovenian language is also presented. Finally, some conclusions of the analysis of the collected material are provided.
