Sažetak
The Drava river fish community is fundamentally different from that at the beginning of the century. The river now has only remnants of its extensive floodplain, barrages have cut the upper Drava into many long sections with or without tributaries, and some of the tributaries are polluted. Many oxbows are completely isolated from the river. Despite the great number of fish species (64) the structure of fish communities are different. To maintain the Drava fisheries in lower part of the river ecologically founded hydraulic conditions have to be maintained as well as some flood-plains fish reserves or parks. At the same time, in the upper Drava active human intervention as fish stocking of reservoirs is necessary to maintain the fish production.
