Sažetak
In this work the general case of very large displacements of beam systems is considered ; the theoretical formulation is carried out considering the rotations as the unknown of the problem and using the exact axpression of the equilibrium equation. An overview of the analytical and numerical solutions is proposed. In particular a special type of finite element, that does not require an incremental approach, thus permitting fast and accurate results to be achieved, is suggested. To emphasize the applicability of the method several examples are finally presented.
