Sažetak
This work presents the most recent global and Croatian data on the state, movement and structure of registered addicts, with special reference to those characterized by delinquent activities. Also presented are all the existing types of treatment applied in phases, depending on the type and degree of adiction to specific drugs.
The objective of the research part of the work was to examine the life style and personality features of young delinquent addicts which could, if observed in their mutual relationship, serve as a basis for a more efficient design of a spectrum of rehabilitative procedures by competent institutions. The sample of respondents consisted of 247 persons of both genders, younger than 35 years, who have, in the last five years, been recorded by six police administrations as addicts and criminal offenders. The data were processed by the descriptive and canonical correlation analysis. Results have revealed that the addict delinquency is immanent in a younger age group and that the offenders are multiple addicts with rich criminal records, a parasitic style of living and complex problems conected with personality. In the end the authors are giving their own contribution to the consideration of this problem by use of a multidisciplinary and outreach approach.
