Sažetak
The process of security improving in ships is very huge problem especially in large ships. Terrorist attacks and everyday threats on life and property destroys transport and touristy companies. Especially that relation to large tourist ships. Every person in ship can be recognized and identified using something what person know, or something what person possess. Best results will give combination of person known and possess in one biometric characteristic. Analyzing problem of biometric in ITS security we conclude that face recognition process supporting with one or two traditional biometric characteristics can give very good results in ship security. In this paper we will describe biometric system based on face recognition. Special focus we will give on crew member’ s biometric security in crisis situation like kidnapping, robbery or illness.
