Sažetak
Root based direction finding (DF) algorithms presume equal radiation patterns between array elements. This condition is generally violated due to the presence of mutual coupling. Exploiting infinite array concept that is implemented using passive (dummy) and active elements, radiation patterns can be made more equal. The equality among radiation patterns can be additionally increased optimizing terminating impedances of the passive elements. It has been shown in this paper that direction of arrival (DOA) estimation error can be decreased even for a few degrees when element radiation patterns are additionally equalized through the optimization of the terminating impedances of the passive elements.
