Sažetak
Croatia is a naval country and also a country in the Danube basin. These two features put Croatia into the milieu of Mediterranean and Central European countries. There are many elements in which Croatia presents a natural bond between these two very important European regions. Special importance belongs to the fact that it is the territory of Croatia over which the most favorable land traffic lines connect the maritime international traffic system with that of the Danube Basin in Central Europe. All these are prerequisites on which it is possible to develop traffic and economic interests between Coratia and its surroundings, primarly that of central Europe. The central question that arises in this context is: what are all these interests and how can they be realized. Answers to these and some other question are the subject of the analysis in the following text.
