Sažetak
A new information sphere based on Internet technologies is developed which is interactive and irrespective of place and time. Information can be used either at the same time or at a later date and can be manipulated by many users or computers. The technological change initiates new priorities in cartography such as map function rather than map aesthetic. Consequently there is paradox in cartography. On the one hand internet provides extended possibilities for map distribution and map utilisation. On the other hand a simple and rudimentary map model is received, both in online view maps, in interactive maps or in spatial analysis maps. The limited factor in the quality of screen maps is a hardware restriction based on the size of pixel. Further size of pixel depends on type of screen and diagonal size of screen. The absence of rules and limitations is a principal characteristic in the development of the global net. In cartography this leads to a methodically inadequate graphic, so called presentation without information. Today the goal of cartography has to be the construction of standard tools for a new medium, the internet, but at the same time users should not be restrict and the product of their work should have an adequately prescribed graphic quality.
